Senior Environmental Engineer at Wendel

Wendel is currently seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer who will manage environmental regulatory compliance programs, permitting and reporting. The Senior Environmental Engineer will provide leadership on projects with responsibility for developing site or project compliance strategy, performing as a liaison within the company and with regulators; planning, scheduling, and executing programs while demonstrating a high degree of judgement, expertise, and leadership in the field. This hybrid position can be out of any of the Wendel offices located in NYS.
This is the right position for you if:
· You are experienced in all aspects of field investigation (drafting work plans, permitting, coordinating field teams and subcontractors, and sample collection), data evaluation, report writing, and client communication.
· You are passionate towards Engineering design for environmental projects, including preparation of drawings, specifications, calculations, and other design deliverables, and developing operation, maintenance, and monitoring plans.
· You truly enjoy project management work.
· You are great with client relations and your communication skills are top notch.
· You can review and interpret regulations and obtain the correct permits.
· Ensuring compliance with DOE, other federal, state, and local environmental regulations, and requirements by developing plans and objectives which provide for project conformance is exciting to you.
· You are able to travel to job sites and work outside of the office setting some of the time, conducting site and subsurface monitoring for environmental projects, operation & maintenance of remediation systems, as well as monitoring contractor activities during construction.
You will have:
· Experience with the full range of an environmental project lifecycle, including feasibility studies, conceptual design, budgetary cost development, detailed design, and contractor selection.
· Experience with remediation systems, including water pumping and treatment, vapor extraction, construction dewatering, permitting and contractor management.
· Experience with restoration projects.
· BA/BS degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Natural Sciences.
· A PE License.
· Mastery knowledge of environmental compliance.
· Familiarity with local, state, and federal permitting agencies.
· Experience with industry specific software applications including HEC-RAS, HydroCAD and SWMM.
· Demonstrated experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater and site design.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $ 120,000.
